Jenna Swaney is a member of the litigation department of Berding | Weil. Ms. Swaney primarily represents commercial real estate owners, community associations and individual homeowners in construction defect litigation. This representation includes advising clients on pre-litigation dispute resolution, mediation, arbitration and formal litigation of water intrusion, structural, geotechnical, civil, mechanical, acoustical, landscaping and insurance coverage issues.
Prior to joining Berding | Weil, Ms. Swaney worked for a construction consulting and litigation support firm. During her time at CCI, Ms. Swaney was heavily involved in the construction defect investigative phases of litigation, including site inspections, water testing, and destructive testing.
Ms. Swaney spent a considerable amount of time at CCI, managing and researching payment and performance bond claims for a defaulted general contractor on behalf of its Surety, adjusting over 1 million dollars in subcontractor claims.
Additionally, while attending law school, Ms. Swaney acted as the Human Resources Director and lead Paralegal and Certified Law Student to the managing partner of a construction litigation firm located in Chico, California.
Ms. Swaney received her Juris Doctor from Cal Northern School of Law in 2009. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she double majored in Spanish and Law and Society. She volunteered at the Legal Aid Society of Santa Barbara at the Domestic Violence Clinic aiding Spanish speaking clients in obtaining Temporary Restraining Orders.
