Ms. Kannen is a Partner in Berding | Weil and General Counsel to community associations. Ms. Kannen's large national law firm experience earlier in her career provided strong training in both litigation and corporate law, assisting her in serving her clients with depth and expertise in the area of community association law, which she has been exclusively practicing since 1995. Karen's broad range of services include interpretation and amendments of governing documents, negotiation of contracts, homeowner enforcement action, contract negotiations and counseling association directors on board member fiduciary duties.
Ms. Kannen is a graduate of Cornell University and received her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review and graduated cum laude in 1990.
Karen is a member of the Orange County Regional Chapter of the Community Associations Institute and the California Association of Community Managers, as well as a member of the California State Bar.
She is widely recognized as an authority in the field, frequently being called upon to participate in industry panels, presentations, and workshops relating to common interest developments.
