“What happens if a member is delinquent in the payment of assessments?”

Regular and special assessments are delinquent if not paid within 15 days after they become due unless the CC&Rs provides for a longer time period. The association may record a lien against the property securing with the property the member's obligation to pay assessments, collection costs, late charges, and interest. The association can also enforce collection through other means such as a lawsuit. (Civil Code § 1366(e))
