A townhouse is an architectural style most typically found in planned development communities. The legal interest is commonly referred to as a lot much like that of a detached single family home. With a townhome you own your portion of the building on the lot, which is usually attached to several other lots. While architecturally a single townhome is often of two-story construction, all townhomes are built on their own individual lot and are not stacked. Usually there are separate entrances and garages.
