Dena Cruz is a Partner and a member of the Business and Real Estate Transactions practice group.
Ms. Cruz has over thirty years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, financing, property and transfer taxation and related litigation and appeals. Her experience includes the representation of bio-mass plants, brownfield developers, developers, finance companies, governing authorities, hotel groups, retail merchants, and landlords and tenants in connection with acquisitions, development, dispositions, ground and space leases, financing and taxation of commercial properties. She has worked on transactions involving numerous types of commercial assets including mixed-use, religious, residential, retail, hotel, entertainment and industrial properties throughout Northern California and other major markets. She is also a nationally recognized expert in title and escrow claims, serving as a testifying expert for title insurance underwriters, agents and their insureds in title and escrow disputes. She is also a noted speaker and writer in her areas of practice and expertise.
Ms. Cruz received her Juris Doctor from the Santa Barbara University of California in 1985. She received her B.A. from University of California at Santa Barbara in 1979 with honors.
