Jenna Swaney is a partner in Berding|Weils litigation department and has been with the firm since 2011. Ms. Swaney represents commercial real estate owners, community associations, and individual homeowners in complex construction defect lawsuits. Her representation includes advising clients on pre-litigation dispute resolution, mediation, arbitration, and formal litigation in court up to and including trial. Ms. Swaney was named as a Super Lawyer Northern California Rising Star from 2017-2024.
Prior to joining Berding|Weil, Ms. Swaney worked for a construction consulting and litigation support firm providing services in construction defect investigation and claims analysis, construction management and completion contracting administration, and critical path method project scheduling. During law school, Ms. Swaney interned at a construction defect and general civil litigation law firm. Ms. Swaney has also served on the Board of the Contra Costa County Bar Association, Womens Section. Throughout her career, Ms. Swaney has represented clients in all aspects of litigation, appearing in state courts throughout California.
Ms. Swaney received her Juris Doctor from Cal Northern School of Law in 2009. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree and graduated with honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara where she double majored in Spanish and Law and Society. During college, she volunteered at the Legal Aid Foundation assisting the community and victims of domestic violence obtain restraining orders.
