Entry-Level Paralegal

Major California litigation law firm seeks candidates for its litigation paralegal team. As an entry level litigation paralegal, you will have the opportunity to work directly with experienced senior case analysts on a variety of complex construction litigation cases. You will be identifying, analyzing, summarizing, and preparing evidence from documents, on-site investigations of defective construction projects, and from the testimony of construction experts. You will report to and be trained by case analysts who have decades of litigation experience.

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: Salary dependent on qualifications. This is a benefited position.

Essential Functions:

  • Document organization.
  • Review and summarize documents.
  • Index data.
  • Prepare materials for depositions and court ordered proceedings.
  • Assist with basic legal research.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Law firm experience or a paralegal certificate a plus but not required.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Would have a college degree.
  • Be a self-starter.
  • Have a strong interest in a career in the legal field.

Legal Assistant/Secretary

Walnut Creek office of a Statewide law firm seeks a full-time (8:30am-5pm) Litigation Secretary, with a minimum 5 years' experience supporting attorneys and paralegals. Litigation experience is required, corporate experience is appreciated.

Our ideal candidate is a true litigation rock star, who can confidently assess the needs of this office and the teams that will be supported, and take masterful control of the calendar and case management. This desk is heavy in litigation, and may include overtime as case needs arise. We need an assistant who is a self-starter, and can anticipate needs before they arise. Our ideal candidate is a team player who is already comfortable in the industry, who can maintain positive connections with vendors and clients, and will keep their attorneys aware of all upcoming deadlines. We encourage a collaborative team structure, and you must be able to stand your ground and communicate effectively in high-stress situations.

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $70,000 - $80,000 per year. This is a benefited position.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Electronic and standard filing in State and Federal Courts.
  • Drafting and editing pleadings including TOC/TOA, and coordination of service of documents.
  • Calendaring with ProLaw.
  • Assisting attorneys, paralegals and law clerks with various case-related tasks as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of ProLaw, FormBuilder, NetDocuments, and Microsoft Office. It is vital that you be professional and punctual, and have the ability to handle multiple tasks. Have an eye for detail, be confident, outgoing, able to work with all types of people, and be proficient in overall computer and internet use, and you will be an indispensable member of the team! You must be willing to take direction from multiple sources and thrive in a team-oriented law firm environment.
