Michael is an associate in Berding & Weil's litigation department, where he focuses on construction defect, community association, and real estate litigation. He supports attorneys through all phases of litigation, contributing to case strategy, discovery, and resolution.
Before entering law school, Michael worked in claims management, handling complex, litigated matters and working closely with counsel to develop litigation strategies and evaluate settlement opportunities. This experience provides him with a practical, results-oriented perspective in his legal work.
During law school, Michael served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Anthony Kyriakopoulos in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Mechanics Lien Division, where he gained insight into construction-related disputes and court procedures. He also represented clients as a student attorney in the University of Illinois Chicago Fair Housing Legal Clinic, advocating in administrative hearings involving housing discrimination claims.
Michael began his career with Berding & Weil as a law clerk, where he assisted with construction defect and community association matters before joining the firm as an attorney.
Michael earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 2025. While in law school, he served as a Staff Editor on the Law Review and was a recipient of the Dean's Scholarship. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics, with a minor in Business Administration, from California State University, Chico in 2019.
